flat, white & vain

March 27, 2024

  • I haven't been sleeping my preferable eight hours like at all the last few weeks, but I've been sleeping exceptionally well.

  • Sun’s out today under a medium to thickish layer of white flat cloud. Makes me think of coffees called flat whites. Who coined this coffee? Please don't tell me Starbucks.

  • Seems like that's what could have been a bully’s nickname for me as a late teen being a flat-chested white girl. Perhaps I was stunted down there because of all the sports I was playing, running off any body fat possible to build on.

  • Maybe it's another name for a not exciting life in the suburbs. I grew up middle class. I would say for the context in which I knew life then, it was exciting enough. I had friends. Activities lined up always. Somehow.

  • I think she did too much. Not on purpose, but because too much was her baseline. Brought to her by the ripe age of being able to hold her baby bros. Grandma Rosie always needed a helping hand, and you sure as hell don't hand off the responsibilities to someone like Don, Dave or Russ. You give it all to Little Debbie.

  • I find it vain men naming their children after themselves. They already have your blood and last name, what more do they need for their son to be reminded they didn't fall far from the tree their daddy fell from?

  • Isn’t it confusing AF to call your husband for something — even in the heat of the moment during sexy time — and your child’s ears perk up. Or you just call them Junior?

And how is this only really tied to men’s first names? I know no girl named after her mother. Have you heard of a Katheryn Jr.? Do you know any girls called Junior? No.

What is that? Men being so egotistical they need their sons named after them. Russel isn’t even a good name.

  • This was quite the rant about a man that doesn't necessarily deserve it. At the same time it doesn't seem like he was that great of a role model for his boys. Dave went and fucked off. Seems John did, too. And poor Don, man, he's not well. Sure that’s also on him, but again fruits and Juniors don't fall far from trees.
